Kimberly A. Thomas, affectionately known as “Kimmie” has always been a jack-of-all trades and mastered the art of youth empowerment. Ms. Thomas is a graduate of both Southern University Law Center where she received her Juris Doctorate and Xavier University where she received her undergraduate degrees in both Political Science and Microbiology. Kimmie was recently promoted to the position of President of the companies IGL Foundation, GameHedz Productions and Independent Gaming League after the untimely transition of her brother Derek last year. She formerly held the position as Executive Director/VP for all organizations and advanced by the will of the team, as well as her brother, in an effort to carry on the vision and legacy of Derek.
Kimmie also serves as Legislative Counsel to the Senate Democratic Caucus, Committee Leader to the NOLA Black Wall Street, Consultant to Heroes of New Orleans Community Center and Tattoos By Taz, and Team Lead for the all-girl OMG Club’s New Orleans Chapter. She thrives in teaching law, entrepreneurship, and business relations to youth. Ms. Thomas is a disaster relations specialist, community leader and business legal consultant by trade and has an expertise in change management.
Kimmie is most proud of her position as mother to her 12-year old son, “Chance O.T.” (who is an intern with IGL Foundation) and sister of a visionary that was a conduit of innovation in technology and esports education.
