Julian Herbert

Julian is a native of Port Allen, LA and relocated to New Orleans from Seattle in 2019. His day job is a Product Manager on the AWS Activate team, helping startups build and grow, where he owns building out the customer experience for startups. Over his 3+ years at Amazon, Julian has helped both tech startups looking to build on AWS and small/medium businesses manage their experience in e-commerce as a product manager on the Seller experience team for Amazon.com. Prior to Amazon, Julian was a Management Consultant at Deloitte in San Francisco, leading engagements in the M&A divestiture space focused on High Tech and Bio-tech/Pharma companies.

A career techie, Julian started his career at Texas Instruments as an IT analyst, following graduation from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA with a B.S. in Computer Science where he was valedictorian. He also holds an MBA from the University of Michigan – Ross School of Business, where he was elected President of the Black Business Students Association.

Outside of work, Julian is the husband of a civil rights attorney, dad to an energetic 2-year old and mentor to several black PMs across the country. He is also an advocate for Southern University, where he mentors, sponsors and organizes on behalf of increasing tech and startup exposure to students. Additionally, he works with various startups on product strategy and customer experience in New Orleans.
