Derrick is a Private Banker with J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank in New Orleans. He is a graduate of Tulane University with a Bachelors degree in both Finance and Business Management. Derrick began his career in 2015 as a Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch after a short stint in the NFL. He works closely with clients and their families to gain a thorough understanding of their financial goals. Over time, Derrick has developed a specialization working with minority business owners, executives, athletes/entertainers. His personal experiences, the inequities that have led to the racial wealth gap, and the consistent mismanagement of money by professional athletes/entertainers ignites his passion to educate and empower the individuals and families directly affected. Derrick’s team provides financial planning and guidance to help their clients make sound investment decisions and ascertain the level of discipline they need to navigate uncertainty in the markets, overcome unique financial circumstances, and successfully transfer their wealth from generation to generation. As a resident of New Orleans, Derrick is very active in the community. He serves as a mentor for local non-profit Son of a Saint, sits on the board of LOOPNOLA, and sits on the board of New Orleans Jazz Orchestra (NOJO). Derrick is also a member of the Young Leadership Council, New Orleans Regional Black Chamber of Commerce, Tulane Alumni Association New Orleans Club, and the NFLPA Gulf Coast Chapter.
